On the outside looking in
“Looking from the outside in, you can never understand it. Standing on the inside looking out you can never explain it.”
As a foreigner in a new country, I sometimes feel like I am on the outside, looking in.
I love my adopted country, but at first, had feelings of not fitting in, or just not belonging.
When I arrived in the USA, I made the decision not to go back to a full time job, but instead pursue my art.
What I did not realize at first was that working from home, in a new country, would mean that I would (initially) isolate myself, and at times, it was overwhelming. This however, set me on a path of self discovery and growth that allows me the freedom to create.
Here’s to honoring our own truth, trusting that we belong wherever we are.
